Enlisting in military service as a Department of Defense firefighter at age seventeen, Mark Pinaire was quick to exceed professional standards, becoming an nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician, expert marksman and good conduct medal recipient. Earning the respect of peers and senior fire officers, military and civilian, Mark was advanced to Rescueman and given the nickname "Last Chance" for his ability to meet a goal when all other efforts were exhausted.
